Learn to make yogurt and sauerkraut! Both of these foods are prepared through fermentation, but by different processes. This class will guide you through the process of making yogurt and sauerkraut. You will go home with started jars of both of these foods and recipes to make them. We will also discuss other fermented foods and the health benefits of fermented foods.
Yogurt and sauerkraut are fun and easy to make. These fermented foods provide good bacteria, otherwise known as probiotics, which have all kinds of health benefits. Probiotics help fight infections, provide vitamins and other nutrients, and may help with digestion. More information on fermented food is in the 12/28/12 blog entry.
